For project 2 I decided to partner up with Rebecca Mauck and tackle the thinking skill of perspective by taking a trip to NewYork city to visit the 9/11 memorial. In NYC we decided to interview people around the 9/11 memorial and get their overall perspective of the event. We had the chance to interview people who lived in New York during the time and also people who lived in other countries during 9/11. We also visited other parts of New York to Take photos and compare how the city has changed since the time of the event until now. Being the first class to not be alive during this time It is important to us to gain knowledge and spread it to the younger generations.
The process
English- for the English portion we began by conducting a series of interview questions that respected the perspective of people whole lived through 9/11. We made 5 questions all about the event of 9/11. We used these questions for the interviews we conducted in NYC. Before going to New York we made a plan on where we would be going and where we would be doing our interviews at. We decided to do all of our interviews near the 9/11 memorial. For the interviews, we decided to go back and forth both interviewing different people that we saw were fit to answer the questions. We did have a few people who did not want to answer the questions but we had plenty of others that were willing to help us out. After documenting all of our interviews, we decided to write two different poems about the different perspectives we received from the interviews. We then wrote the poems on Two postcards
Art- For the art portion of our project we created a vlog of out experiences and the interviews that took place during our journey in New York. After gathering all of the footage for our vlog we used a software, called Final Cut Pro, to edit and put all of our footage together.
